March is MN FoodShare Month!
This March, we join food shelves, faith communities, businesses, and organizations across Minnesota acting to end hunger and food insecurity. Did you know that Joyce Uptown Foodshelf serves between 300-320 households each month? Joyce Uptown Foodshelf is an emergency food shelf primarily serving the Southwest Minneapolis community; however, we are open to all who need food. The food shelf gives participants a three-day supply of nutritionally-balanced food once a month. In March we ask you to Help us Serve Breakfast to Families at Joyce Uptown Foodshelf. We will collect the following breakfast items in the Commons at church:
- Cold Cereal
- Pancake Mix (the just add water kind is easiest)
- Oatmeal
- Dry/Powdered Milk
- Coffee
Minnesota FoodShare envisions a Minnesota where all residents have access to healthy food and no one struggles with food insecurity. The March Campaign addresses these issues directly and they invite you to join their efforts and advocate for long-term solutions to food insecurity and poverty in our communities by participating in the March campaign. Together, we can ensure #FoodForAllMN.
